View answers
- 1. (c) closed — A closed (complete) circuit allows current to flow.
- 2. (d) battery — Joined cells make a battery.
- 3. (a) conductor — It is a conductor.
- 4. (b) rubber — Rubber does not conduct electricity.
- 5. A complete path through which current can flow.
- 6. Conductor: copper; insulator: rubber.
- 7. A simple electric circuit needs a few components working together to form a complete path for current. The cell or battery is the source that supplies electricity. Connecting wires, made of a conducting metal, carry the current around the circuit. A device such as a bulb uses the current to do something useful, like giving light. A switch is included to open or close the circuit: when the switch is closed the path is complete and current flows, so the bulb glows; when it is open the path is broken and the bulb goes off. Current flows only when the whole circuit is closed.
How it works
Every question is drawn from StudyMatic’s own Science bank for Electricity Circuits and their Components — nothing is auto-generated or invented. Pick how many of each type you want, add your own questions if you like, choose 1–4 paper sets for anti-cheating, and print the worksheet and answer key separately or save them as PDF.
