Showing belonging
Some words show who something belongs to. In ‘This is my book’, the word ‘my’ shows the book belongs to me.
The words
The possessive words are: my, your, his, her, its, our, their.
his and her
Use ‘his’ for a boy/man and ‘her’ for a girl/woman. ‘Rahul lost his pen.’ ‘Mira found her bag.’
